Edward Robert Hughes (5 novembre 1851 - 23 Aprile 1914) è stato un pittore inglese che ha lavorato soprattutto ad acquerelli. E' stato influenzato dallo zio, eminente preraffaellita, Arthur Hughes. Ha studiato alla Royal Academy School nel 1868. I Preraffaelliti hanno svolto un ruolo influente nella formazione lavoro di Hughes. Edward Hughes è ampiamente noto per le sue opere "Midsummer Eve and Night With Her Train of Star". Oltre ad essere un artista affermato egli stesso, Edward Hughes era anche assistente di studio per l'artista più anziano e preraffaellita William Holman Hunt.
